Barbie is ruining my life!

We love Barbie movies! When they began coming out I wasn't impressed and didn't want my girls to think they had to be just like Barbie. We were given a few from different sources and I discovered I liked them. Some of them have Barbie saving the day instead of the handsome prince which is... refreshing! But, what I like most is the fabulous music! My favorites, of course, are Nutcrackers and Swan Lake. Pegasus has some sweet music, too. Well, in Barbie and the Magic of Pegasus Princess Annika gets grounded for disobeying her parents. Before she marches up the stairs to her bedchamber she shouts, "You're ruining my life!"



My little Alice is a parrot and says whatever she hears Esme yell out. For example, Esme throws a fit and shouts, "You're rude!" The next thing I know every time Alice gets distressed she's shouting out, "You're rude!" whether it applies or not. Today is turning out to be an emotional day for Alice. She's been saying things like, "You're the rudest I've ever saw!" and "I never like you!" Now she's topped them all by saying, "You're ruining my life!" to Esme when she tattled on Alice for sneaking candy.

Maybe I should write a note to the writers of children movies and let them know that whatever the heroin, the villain, or the Pegasus says will be coming out of my child's mouth!
