What a weekend... so, Edward & I switched nursing Alice shifts and going to church. I got to attend Sacrament meeting (YAY!) And, I got to teach the YW!! I love the YW in my ward even though I don't get to serve them... yet. (It's one of my fantasies!) Anyway... I came home and Edward went to Sunday School. Later that afternoon we decided to go for a walk to get Alice out of the house. We went on the loop by Grandma's house. Half way through Renesmee really, REALLY wanted to walk, but she was slowing the show down a lot. So, I had the idea to do "1, 2, 3!" and swing her in the air. Grandma and I did it a few times and then Renesmee started to cry. It was unlike her to cry and not react to our attempt to soothe her. After a bit we realized that her arm was really bothering her and she wasn't moving/using it at all.
I called after hours and the Dr. said it was probably nursemaid elbow which is extremely common and to take her to the ER. NO WAY! We've had too many bad experiences w/the ER. Instead, we took her to my chiropractor friend who was gracious and let us into his home and he adjusted her elbow. Renesmee wasn't as fussy or treating the arm as gingerly. My friend and I weren't sure if we'd gotten it fixed completely because it was a bit swollen and hard to tell when we felt her bones. We came home and I put her to bed. She slept for a bit and then woke up crying several times. After getting her up it was clear that her elbow was really bothering her again.
It was late and we sadly trudged to this local little ER the Dr. told us about. It turned out to be a cute little office and there was absolutely no wait, and the ER Dr. fixed her arm and she started using it normally! Thank you to both my friend and the nice ER Dr. who saved us from going to the ER by the hospital!!
We got Renesmee to bed and then Alice started crying because her stomach hurt so intensely. I held and comforted her until she fell asleep. She slept well for the most part, but this morning was still in pain. So, I called our Dr and we go see him... she has the flu strand A.
I'm trying to quarantine her and disinfect the house. I think they should make women get medical training before we are allowed to get pregnant. Honestly! I have no idea what I'm doing in this department.
