the South is alive w/the sound of OPERAS!!

I was able to participate in a super intense one month opera workshop. I learned so much and really enjoyed it! The way it works is several scenes are performed from a handful of different shows. I was three characters... an "elegant lady" in the Barber of Seville. Fancy dress, no lines, but I did deliver a letter.

I was Maria in the "I feel pretty" scene from West Side Story. I even made my own dress and apron!

It's the first time I've ever been the lead!

I like it!

I was a peasant chorus member in "the Bartered Bride," I love my flowers!!

I was so excited on the first night of rehearsals to recognize a tenor from Stake Choir! It was such a blessing and source of joy to have a fellow Latter-day Saint in the cast! Anytime something questionable popped up in conversation I would run to find Chris, or if we were together we'd do something ridiculous like burst into renditions of "Popcorn!" Luckily, theater people are constantly bursting out randomly so we fit right in.

Some chorus members and the bear... who stole the whole show, and our director, Mr. Schiller.
(we are all making our excited stage face the Mr. Schiller worked so hard to get out of us!)

My voice teacher, Mrs. Heath-Welch

My two best friends! Christ & Kat... they were so stinking hilarious! They were husband & wife in their show... and when they fought it was so convincing!!

Most of the time being back stage was just as much fun as being center stage!

find me?

This is my oo, la, la pose!

Chris was my polka partner, then we sang this bit of the song, then he throws me over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes!

the finale...
